Your Host and longtime Zancudo'ite' Robby is also a fantastic Chef. Open just afew days out of the week, Robby has folks over for an informal get together to share great food, good drink and fine times !!
Give him a call early in the week or stop in and see what he has up his sleeve for the coming weekend. You'll never be disappointed and with the easy laid back atmosphere that they create it's always one of the best nights out on the beach.
While you are here on the beach drop by or give them a call at: 2776-0029

Los Capitanes is one of our favorite local owned eateries in Playa Zancudo. Your Hostess Anid is a fantastic Chef and her little restaurant serves up some of the best traditional Costa Rican beach food in town. The setting is simple but nice and gives the visitor the classic little Fishing Village feel that is a trade mark here in the coastal communities of the Southern Zone of Costa Rica.
While Visiting Playa  Zancudo, look for her "satellite dish" sign on the road in the middle of the Village and treat yourself & friends to a breakfast, lunch or dinner that is sure to give you that Pura Vida feeling !!!

Paradise at "The End of the Road" in Southern Costa Rica !!

~ Come and enjoy the Pura Vida ~

Long time Playa Zancudo friend Sonny Sullivan, of Bermuda, enjoys walking across the road from the beach here in town and exploring the mangroves along the river. The unique layout of Zancudo offers a visitor a front row seat to two very different worlds.
The first is a remote, black sand beach that stretches on for miles and miles of un-developed serenity. A beach that has so few people around that you often feel as if you've been ship-wrecked on a deserted Tropical Island. A place that while sitting on the beach you can watch one of the World Class Sunsets that Playa Zancudo is famous for and in either direction, as far as the eyes can see, there isn't a soul in site.
Then, just steps across the single dirt road that runs through our little town there is a huge mangrove estuary and river system that is full of tropical adventure of every kind.
Sonny takes full advantage of both worlds while in town for the Winter each year and lucky for us he brings his camera !!

While you visit this part of Costa Rica, keep your camera close at hand ! Playa Zancudo affords a Photographer an endless array of picture perfect postcard shots.
From sun-up to sun-down, in any direction you look this pristine Tropical Paradise will never let a true "Shutterbug" down. It simply doesn't matter if you are out on the ocean, walking along the beach or cruising up the river through the Mangrove Estuary the photo opportunities are endless !!
You don't need to bring a lot of luggage here ... a few T-shirts, some shorts, your Flip Flops and a bathing suit, but what ever happens ... don't forget the camera !!

As so many of our friends are sneaking back into town for the Winter and are running around getting supplies from the border and taking care of business we want to remind you of a fantastic place to visit if you find yourself up around Cludad Neily.
Just outside of Neily as you are heading toward the border, look for this sign on the right-hand side of the road. As you turn off the Pan-American Hwy. you'll need to take a hard right and then fallow the arrows to the Manu Restaurant.
They have a wonderful place on a little hill just above a lake that is teeming with wildlife. The owners and staff are very nice and will give you some veggie-snacks to hand feed the huge Iguanas table side. The food here is great, the beer is cold and the surroundings are breathtaking. DO NOT FORGET YOUR CAMERA !!
This is an enchanting place to take visitors or just stop in to have a meal & a cold drink yourself. If you are heading north from the border with Panama look for the large concrete bridge as you get towards Neily. The turn-off is just past it. Sign is on the left, on the bus stop, and you will turn right to enter. As you turn off the Hwy. you'll have to immediately turn hard right again and head down the hill. After that you can fallow their red arrows back to their place. It's aways back there so don't think you've missed it !! Say hello from Playa Zancudo !!!
... and enjoy ;)  This place is full of PURA VIDA !!
