Long time Playa Zancudo friend Sonny Sullivan, of Bermuda, enjoys walking across the road from the beach here in town and exploring the mangroves along the river. The unique layout of Zancudo offers a visitor a front row seat to two very different worlds.
The first is a remote, black sand beach that stretches on for miles and miles of un-developed serenity. A beach that has so few people around that you often feel as if you've been ship-wrecked on a deserted Tropical Island. A place that while sitting on the beach you can watch one of the World Class Sunsets that Playa Zancudo is famous for and in either direction, as far as the eyes can see, there isn't a soul in site.
Then, just steps across the single dirt road that runs through our little town there is a huge mangrove estuary and river system that is full of tropical adventure of every kind.
Sonny takes full advantage of both worlds while in town for the Winter each year and lucky for us he brings his camera !!
